Welcome to inside my head, a site I created to share my passion for changing the way work gets done.
I am a classic Myers-Briggs INTJ. I am hard wired to acquire knowledge and build my intuition so that I can make informed decisions. I live to solve complex business challenges. I spot trends and make predictions, then create rapid experiments to test those predictions.
My Vision: A better world through better business
My pain is watching people try things over and over again hoping for the best, but falling short of their potential. Life is too short to do things nobody values. Success should be measured in the value you create, not how exhausted you feel at the end of the day.
My Mission: To create a better world through better business by planning and guiding the execution of creative, innovative, information based strategies that achieve breakthrough results
I believe the goal of any business is to identify what a client needs (or wants more of) and deliver the minimum viable product required to achieve the maximum result for them. Get it right and the client is willing to pay a premium, resulting in more profit for the business to invest where it wants. Everybody wins! The big gap is when those working in the business have trouble connecting what they do with the value the customer is willing to pay.
An Entrepreneur sees an opportunity which others do not fully recognize to meet an unsatisfied demand or to radically improve the performance of an existing business. (Chris Oakley)
So, in 2015 I asked for and was given the opportunity to create the Center for Continuous Improvement at Experis IT Solutions, a ManpowerGroup Company. Have you seen the show “The Profit” on CNBC? That is a bit like what we do. We identify areas inside the enterprise with potential, then use rapid experimentation and validated learning to unlock it. We create innovative, creative, analytical and inexpensive ways to achieve breakthrough results using lean, agile, leanstartup thinking.
“Lean thinking is a business methodology that aims to provide a new way to think about how to organize human activities to deliver more benefits to society and value to individuals while eliminating waste.” (Womack and Jones)
